Flooding the Media
May 3, 2016
After supporters of the whitewater park packed Willamette Falls Legacy Project’s open house at the end of March, the media has taken notice. Since then, The Oregonian, The Portland Business Journal, The Clackamas Review, KOIN 6 and KATU have all done pieces on the growing public interest. Here a few choice quotes:
- KOIN 6 – “We’re talking more than 100 jobs, $20-30 million economic impact, hundreds of thousands of visitors every year to this center point in Oregon City.”
- Oregonian – “Picture this: A whitewater park, where people can raft and kayak the waters of the Willamette River, routed through the middle of the soon-to-be-built Riverwalk development in downtown Oregon City.”
- Clackamas Review – “Oregon City is in the midst of pivoting from the past to the future.”
- KATU – “I know this area is ripe for change and all of the people who live here are very interested in this becoming a community."
While the whitewater park is still just in the proposal phase, there is no doubt that energy is building, and the media is taking notice.
